You are a good Father – always abounding in grace and consumed with a fierce love. You scale buildings to defend your people. Your mighty hand sustains the weak and your spirit resides in the wholly surrendered.
We look to you, Christ, because you are the face of goodness. You are purity defined. You light fire to the ashes of your children’s hearts and develop these coals into beautiful diamonds.
The infinite goodness of God could fill an infinite number of universes and an infinite number of books. Yet, the sliver we see of it is still a bounty, an abundance. – Jen Wilken
We shine at the mention of your name – for we know that you are the mighty lion. Your grasp is firm and your roar victorious. In your presence there is power. It’s electric – running through us as a current both day and night.
We cry holy, holy, holy Lord God Almighty! You are everlasting and we cannot help but shield our faces from the glory you shine over your people.
Holding hands in a circle of love – unbroken –we chant at the top of our lungs. We cry out in unison –great are you, God. Your goodness knows no limits.
Love knows no limit to its endurance, no end to its trust, no fading of its hope; it can outlast anything. It is, in fact, the one thing that still stands when all else has fallen. – 1 Corinthians 13:10-12 (J.B. Phillips New Testament)
May our heart’s prayer be to emulate this rare decency you show to humankind. May our faces reflect your nature and lead others to repentance.
Empower us to step forward, seek your heart of pure gold and make a difference here on earth – for our treasures do not reside in this temporal life; but, will manifest in the Kingdom to come!
