Battle For Your Heart, Mind and Soul

There is no neutral ground in the universe. Every square inch, every split second is claimed by God, and counterclaimed by Satan. - C.S. Lewis.jpgThis hollow earth beneath your feet is claimed. It’s a battleground, dear one. A battle for your heart, mind and soul. Unseen warriors stand beside you – both good and bad.  They speak over your precious mind; but, you have the choice to listen to the lovely promises being uttered or trust in the depraved words of the forces of darkness.

There is no neutral ground in the universe. Every square inch, every split second is claimed by God, and counterclaimed by Satan. – C.S. Lewis

The battle is real, and it is not to be taken lightly, precious one. This war is raging right now. Be vigilant child –arm and prepare yourself. Take up my sword and sheath and march forward.

The clashing up ahead of you might terrify; but, I tell you:

“Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them, for the LORD your God is the one who goes with you He will not fail you or forsake you.” – Deuteronomy 31:6-7

You must lean on me – the Mightiest Warrior – for strength. Because of the blood of the lamb, the end ultimately is victory; but, that doesn’t mean you skip suiting up and taking part in the war. I have called you to be mighty – to achieve the impossible – to walk on water in the midst of the violent elements and dance in the furnace of trials.

Hold up your sword child. This chilling world is not your home. I have placed you here at this moment in time to fight for me, steadfastly stand for my Word and lead others to the never-ending, ever-flowing well of life.

Will you choose this day to recognize the unseen struggle around you? Will you guard your mind child and press on in confidence?

Let the commands in my Book of Life guide you. Listen for my still small voice. I am the lamb that was slain and the living lion that roars in triumph. Though the evil one may have claimed you for himself, you have the power to crush and break his stronghold on your life.

You are God-breathed. March forward dear child and renounce the earthly grasp on your soul; and accept the charge that your Creator has given you!

Do You Ever Picture God As A Lion?

lionDo you ever picture God as a lion? I do. And, in fact, I do this quite often. There is something about the safe mane and sturdy body that provides my heart such rest and a sense of safety.

I look at pictures of this majestic creature and just think, ‘that’s my Jesus.’ The paws of precision and the coat of pure silky fur glowing in the sunlight. To take from The Newsboys, ‘my God is not dead, he’s surely alive living on the inside roaring like a lion.’

Reading C.S.Lewis’ book, ‘The Lion, Witch and The Wardrobe’ almost brings me to tears every time. When I read statements from Aslan (the lion protagonist) my heart is stirred with such love and my body ripples with goose bumps.

This character was meant to portray our Savior and Lewis does a tremendous job in painting a picture of fire, love and courage all in one animal. He is the fearless leader in the book, resilient and kind.

This is one of my favorite exchanges in the book between Lucy and Aslan:

“How can we live, never meeting you?” cried Lucy. “But you shall meet me, dear one,” said Aslan. “But there I have a different name. You must learn to know me by that name. This was the very reason you were brought to Narnia, that by knowing me here for a little, you may know me better there.”

I long to know God better. I want to look into those lion eyes and cry, ‘you bled for me.’ You were tied up, hung and ridiculed because of me.’ Some days, here are on earth, may be tougher than others to rest in the security of his mane. Things that are not in our control happen daily. But, dear heart, your lion has overcome the world for you. Hold your head up high.

Talk to God. Cast your cares on him – for he cares for you. If it helps, picture the Lord as the king of all creation – a lion gentle, kind yet fierce (because he is!). And, rest in the shadow of his great paws of protection. He will pounce for you and roar in a weighty sound into the night. He will breathe life into hearts of stone for you because he has the power to do so. And he is your king.
